Santosh is from eastern Nepal, from Sinduli. To pay for his studies, he worked as a driver for the Montessori school of Nimdiki, the founder of Beads for Life. Santosh picked up the children, then went to college himself. In the afternoon, he brought the children back home. After completing his undergraduate degree, Santosh started working at Beads for Life. He has been working there for 16 years and is the operations manager.
"After completing my studies, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next. Of course, I already knew Beads for Life, and Nimdiki offered me every opportunity to find my path. I started with simple tasks like checking inventory, conducting quality checks and handling shipments and payments. Little by little, Nimdiki taught me everything. Back then, only five women worked there. I was only 18 years old, unsure how to present myself. Now, I know what to do. What my job is about. My favorite aspects are managing the team, leading the organization, making plans and setting rules. Nowadays, when the women have questions, they turn to me. Together, we've set clear operational guidelines. In this respect, Nimdiki and I have grown a lot.”

"I am a pretty strict manager. Also with myself. My motto is simple: Don't do things halfway. Focus and commit. If I don't finish a task, I am not happy. I encourage my team to think the same way. That's why I'm strict about work hours. You need to take your job seriously and get down to work. Over time, I've changed. Learning from Nimdiki has made me stronger. With more experience, you become more confident. Now, I'm proud to be independent. You can learn so much from experienced people. I use what I learn to make smart choices and find solutions on my own. I want Beads for Life to be seen as a company that's not just professional and well-organized but also cares about its people. We really focus on that. If someone here has a problem, we help find a solution. Working at Beads for Life is more than just a job; it's about feeling secure."
