How we work together

We select and work together with our suppliers based on four principles.

Impact-driven collaboration

We want to make people feel confident and increase
their independence.

A positive impact on people and the world is paramount in everything we do. The collaborations we enter into must reflect this. We only work with workshops that want to help make a positive difference with us.

For example, our producers focus on hiring women, the preservation of traditional crafts or use environmentally friendly materials and production techniques.

A long term relationships

We only work with producers we know well. They feel
like family. This way we have a better view of the production chain, there is a bond of trust and we can set up new projects together.

For us, purchasing is more than just exchanging products. When expanding our collection, we make
collections for the long term. This way the makers are assured of a steady income. For now and in the future.

Fair and safe working conditions

It is very important to us that the makers work on our
products in a safe and healthy way.

This means that there should be no risks when working with materials and equipment.

That there are good facilities for the workers and that they work according to normal hours.

We ensure that the makers earn a living wage plus. So that they can build a better life through their talents.

A transparent supply chain

A transparent production chain is extremely important
for dealing with people and the world in a responsible manner. It is extremely important in order to deal responsibly with people and the world.

To do this, we map out all the suppliers in our chain. We want to know exactly where and how our products are made, and where the materials come from.

We prefer to work as directly as possible with the source of the material. Step by step, we set goals to improve our transparency.

Our impact cycle

We look at our collaborations to ensure that we are contributing positively to the lives of the makers in the chain.

To do this, we do an annual impact measurement, focusing on the various topics that support our chain responsibility principles. We call this process our impact cycle.

For more information about our CSR policy, the agreements with our producers, our supplier handbook and our code of conduct, please contact our impact manager Eva de Bruine at eva@abeautifulstory.nl. She will be happy to tell you all about it.
